Couponing to Disney spotted a new $5/1 Princess and the Frog DVD coupon! Use this coupon to buy the regular DVD priced around $15.99 at Target or Wal-mart. If you also use these rebates, the final price for this DVD will be only 99 cents! Wow!

Walgreen's 101

There are a few rules at Walgreen's that you will want to know before you shop there!

1. A Register Reward is a coupon that you get back when you buy certain products. It will automatically print at the register when you purchase a Register Reward item. Walgreen's has Register Reward offers in their ad every week.

2. You can only get one Register Reward at a time for a certain product. So, if you buy 3 toothpaste tubes that all offer the Register Reward in the same transaction, you will only get 1 Register Reward. But, if you buy the toothpaste tubes in separate transactions, you will get all 3 Register Rewards coupons.

3. You may buy different items in the same transaction that all offer Register Rewards and you will receive each of the Register Rewards.

4. Do not pay for a transaction with a Register Rewards coupon when you are expecting another one to print out for you. If you use a $2 Carefree Register Reward to pay for a Carefree item that offers a Register Reward, the Register Reward will not print.

5. You cannot have more coupons than you have items in one transaction, or some of the coupons may be denied. If you have a Register Reward and a manufacturer's coupon to use on the same item, buy another small "filler" item so you may use both coupons.

6. You will always have to pay sales tax on the items you buy!

The reports are in! FREE card games at Wal-mart and Toy R Us today! Toys R Us is having a buy one get one FREE cards games sale today, March 15 only! The message I received from them shows the Scrabble Slam, Monopoly Deal, UNO, and Phase 10 games, but the ad says ALL card games!

Also, if you get the USA Weekly in your paper (like the Standard Examiner) you got a Buy 2 Get 1 card game FREE coupon in there! The card games in the picture on the coupon are Yahtzee Hands Down, Mille Bornes, Monopoly Deal, Sorry Revenge and Scrabble Slam.

Recipe of the week: 5 cup salad + frugal tip: use what you have!

A family get together was coming up and I was asked to bring a fruit salad. I started dreaming up the fresh fruit ingredients I could buy and put together with a yummy whipped cream and so on. Then I realized that I already had everything I needed to make a fruit salad.

A couple of weeks ago, I got some incredible deals on sour cream and on marshmallows. I always have coconut on hand, because of my homemade granola addiction. I also always buy mandarin oranges and pineapple at case lot sales for recipes that I love the make. (I use the mandarin oranges for smoothies and the pineapple for a mandarin chicken recipe.)

Those are the 5 ingredients needed for 5 cup salad!

This is so easy to make, it's just 1 cup of each ingredient. (I must ask: is it weird to put marshmallows in a fruit salad? Considering where I live and grew up, I'm thinking it's pretty standard. I must ask this because I have a grandmother that regularly put chocolate chips in her fruit salads and then upgraded later and started putting chopped Snickers bars in instead.)

So, to review:
1 cup crushed or tidbit pineapple
1 cup mandarin oranges
1 cup coconut
1 cup marshmallows
1 cup sour cream

The easiest and, for me, the most frugal fruit salad I could make! Here is my daughter mixing it up. (It actually disappeared pretty quickly at the family party!)
