SUPER FRUGAL FRIDAY- The possibilities!

This video shows another area of my home that we use for storage: The Bathroom Closet! I'm not trying to brag with these videos. Some of you, I'm sure, are a lot more stocked up than I am. My aim is to show new coupon users the possibilities when you get serious about using coupons. Truthfully, I have built up these storage items a very tight budget.

All the items you will see were either FREE or close to it. I have mentioned before that I am really picky with the deals I get. That is due to the fantastic storage already built up! It allows me to save even more money and also have extra to donate to those in need.

When I started using coupons last summer, I went to Smith's for their double coupon days. I overheard a coupon shopper talking about the FREE things she had picked up that day. "FREE!?" I thought. I honestly didn't know that you could get anything for FREE at the grocery store. Wow, what a ride this last year has been!

FRUGAL FRIDAY VIDEO-Our store

I wanted to show you a portion of our "family store" for today's Frugal Friday video. When you begin using multiple sets of coupons, you are able to build up your short-term food storage very quickly! All those boxes of cereal were bought in my first month of using coupons. I bought 60 boxes for about $20! I had to tell myself to stop buying cereal...unless it was FREE.

Once you get a nice stock of items in your family store, you can afford to be really picky about the deals you get. You already have so much of what you need! This helps you to save even more money. Enjoy the video!

SUPER FRUGAL FRIDAY Video- in the garden!

Today's SUPER FRUGAL FRIDAY video is all about gardening! I have a friend that always gets an early start on her garden. We visited her home to see what she was planting today. I love having a garden and you are paid back by your time and effort with tons of FREE groceries from your own yard!



So, just to review, you can plant peas, broccoli, and cabbage right now in the crazy Utah spring weather! You can also put your tomato and pepper plants outside with protection like walls of water.

Kirsten also plants fruit trees in her back yard. She likes to think that fruit trees take as much water and attention as a maple tree, but the fruit tree pays you back with shade AND food! She got 40 qts. of peaches from 1 peach tree alone! She also has strawberry plants, blackberry bushes and tomatillo plants that thrive in the Utah weather.

SUPER FRUGAL FRIDAY VIDEO- Buying in Bulk

Made it just in time! This Frugal Friday video shows some examples of what is available to buy in bulk. I love the #10 cans that Morning Moo's produces. Awesome long-term and short-term food supply!



The company that produces Morning Moo's is The Blue Chip Group. They will be changing their name to 'Auguson Farms' shortly. They have an outlet store on the corner of 500 West and 3440 South. For more information about their company and to see the wide variety of products they offer, read here.

Also, if you want to stock up on powdered milk, now is a great time! I went to the place that I normally buy powdered milk and the price has dropped by more than 50%!

SUPER FRUGAL FRIDAY VIDEO

Every Friday I am going to post a new Savvy Sister video. I'm being really brave here with this one- a tour of my own freezer! I look a little scary in that first slide... sorry! I am very picky about the deals I get- you can afford to be really choosy when you get a good stockpile of food in your home. This is to give you an idea of the possibilities with your own food storage and the deals you can get when you watch for sales and use the coupons with the sales. (Hint: The 2nd video is better and shows more deals!) Both are about 1 minute long. Thanks for looking- I'm actually really proud of this little stash in my freezer! And the best part is.... the food featured here cost around $20!

A new Savvy Sister Shopping video

I have a sad announcement! My computer is feeling ill today and I cannot access blogger. I am posting this on a friend's computer, so I will try to post the hottest deals of the day for you, but it may be a challenge!

I wanted to at least show you this video of a shopping trip I went on with my friend, Dahlene. We went to Family Fresh Foods (of course!) I'm laughing now because I didn't think about the awesome background we chose- the reconstruction area of the pharmacy! Well, I'll choose a better location next time.



Dahlene recently placed a newspaper subscription with The Standard Examiner and she's having tons of fun with all the savings in just one week! Read more about that here. This is what Dahlene had to say about saving money last week:

"Last week Matt and I shopped at Target and the grocery stores we usually go to. Just in receiving one Sunday paper and printing off the coupons you told us about we saved $55 in two shopping trips. That was before we knew what we were doing. I love the cellfire coupons, because it's like doubling your coupon. I went to Smith's today and spent $44. I used $17 in manufacturer's coupons and saved $44 on my whole order, because I shopped the sales and used the Cellfire coupons loaded onto my Smith's card. It does take some time and dedication, but I think it will be easier as time goes on and I get more experience. Thanks for showing me this fun way to save money!"
